As you can see here the tip is also removeable. It has three torx screws holding it in place.

Once you remove your tip, you can easily install spark arrestors and quiet tips.

The original style uses rivets to connect the the entire core to the aluminum canister. The original style end caps are a one piece perferated core, end cap and turn down.
