Tech Tips > General Exhaust Information > Standard core vs Big core
Left is a rivet style big core.
Right is a rivet style standard core.

The difference is simply the size of the perforated core in the muffler and the the turn down tip.

The headpipe and midpipe are the same size regardless of which core is in the muffler.

The standard core makes the best spread of power. It can be made to pass sound. We recommend this muffler configuration for most ATV's.

The Big core is designed for built motors. It makes about a half horsepower more on the top end. It is significantly Louder and can not be made to pass sound.
